Volunteering in Tanzania.
Traveling with TBL as a long term or short term volunteer can be your most rewarding vacation experience! On a volunteer vacation, you serve others on a wide variety of meaningful work projects, learning first hand about the host community and its people. You can work with babies, children, teens of all ages and adults in many different settings. It is much more than an alternative to a standard vacation. This is an opportunity to use your skills and interests in an unconventional setting to benefit others. Give back in a practical, compassionate way while forming lifelong friendships. We are currently working with local schools to whom we provide support and manpower through volunteer involvement. Also we work closely with other non-profit local organizations who have the highest level of humanitarian and sustainable efforts enabling you to broaden your global perspective and truly make a difference.
Travel by Locals offer so many opportunities for voluntary work. Prior work experience is absolutely not required to become a volunteer. To get you started and acclimated with your new environment, we offer 3 days orientation in the beginning of your trip to help you understand your chosen voluntary area, culture and language in Tanzania. The minimum length of volunteering period is one month. If you don't find suitable volunteering placement from our list it is easy to find new placements according to your education, occupation or work experience. Health care professionals can also do voluntary work in hospitals. Light of Society arranges all the contracts and documents needed for volunteering, including Residence Permit. When you arrive we will pick you from the airport and you will stay comfortably in volunteer hostel together with other volunteers and interns, you may also stay in a comfortable hotel in Moshi town or stay with a local family. Our staffs will take good care of you during your entire trip. On the weekends you can do different safaris and small trips with us and after your volunteering period you can even climb Mt. Kilimanjaro or have a holiday in Zanzibar. Make sure that you have extra time for these longer trips after your volunteering period is over. |
